Mosier Valley Ancestors

The first families of Mosier Valley are a blend of Native American and American settlers. Their ancestry traces back to the original Comanche Indian inhabitants and plantation owners who migrated from Missouri and Tennessee. Many other families joined the community of these descendants and maintained strong connections to vital institutions, such as Oak Grove Baptist Church (now known as St. John's Baptist Church), Mission of Deliverance, Mosier Valley COGIC (now Cathedral of Faith), as well as the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Historical Significance

Mosier Valley takes its name from a family of plantation owners who settled there in the 1850s, moving from Missouri. Father Jeremiah K. Mosier died in Tarrant County in 1867. His sons Adam Carson and Thomas W. Mosier appeared on the list of Tarrant County voters.
The Lee Family also owned a plantation, in 1870 Lucy Lee gave forty acres of land to former slaves Robert and Delsie Johnson as a wedding gift. Lee also donated two acres of land for Mosier Valley Cemetery. The first recorded grave is 1859.
